Although it doesn’t seem all too safe, it could prove to be anothersolution for verifying payments.

A new way to increase online casino security (among others,) is soon coming thanks to an awesome new tech innovation. According to BBC, Mastercard security features are improving, currently they are testing a new facial recognition app to provide a new way to confirm online purchases.

So, boiling down things to casinos, for example, each time you bet a larger amount, or want to buy some chips, you would have to go through the facial recognition software. The whole concept has a new, futuristic edge to it, which will probably make it popular among the younger generation.

One problem: level of security is not very high

Although this tech could easily be applied with many mobile gambling apps, there is an underlying issue with the security level of facial recognition. As Ken Munro, security expert told the BBC, “People realised you could take a photo of somebody and present it to the camera, and the phone would unlock.”

This defeats the whole purpose of the program. Since the trial program is still underway, there is plenty of time to figure out all the glitches and try to fix them… because, as Ajay Bhalla Security expert told CNN, “The new generation, which is into selfies… I think they’ll find it cool.” Affirmative, ma’am.
